KOLKATA: Jessop & Company Ltd has entered into a technical collaboration with the Singapore-based Boustead group. The collaboration will help Jessop to offer turnkey solutions in hydrocarbon, power, environmental and process instrumentation.

In a press release issued here on Friday, the company Chairman, Mr P.K. Ruia, described the agreement with the Boustead group as a significant step towards Jessop's efforts to enter the water treatment, environmental management, power generation and distribution businesses.

While the details of the collaboration were not disclosed, the agreement underlines joint marketing initiatives. "Both the companies will jointly tap the market in India and abroad," the release says.

According to the company, the Boustead group is a leading engineering technology firm with trans-national operations. The Singapore-based company had registered a turnover of S$ 22.7 million (around Rs 61.5 crore) during the last year.

Asked about Jessop's performance, a company spokesperson said that, "the company has just completed its first year under private ownership and is on the course of being turnaround. The company has come back into the black," he added.
