THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Finance Minister, Mr Vakkom Purushothaman, has made it clear that the State Government would stand firm on its policy with respect to dealing with private lottery operators.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Purushothaman denied allegations that sought to depict the Government revealing a soft corner towards lottery operators. He further added that the current policies would continue to hold until the Supreme Court delivered its judgment on petitions filed by lottery operators and the State Government of Meghalaya, among others.

The Minister denied that the transfer of the Lotteries Director, Mr Suresh Kumar, had anything to do with the `new thinking' in the Government.
