Rubber prices remain static

THE physical rubber market closed almost unchanged on Friday. The enquiries from the exporters kept the prices firm though the tyre companies were reported to have shifted their purchases to village markets. RSS 4, the sheet rubber closed at Rs 49.50 as on Thursday. Meanwhile, latex 60 per cent improved by 50 paise on sustained demand from the latex goods sector.

The rubber futures showed a positive trend following bullish international markets. The near month October delivery was quoted at Rs 51.14 (50.18), November delivery at Rs 51.60 (51.40), December delivery at Rs 51.61 (51.30) and January delivery at Rs 52.00(51.56) per kg for RSS 4.

The October futures at TOCOM for RSS 3 closed at 139.2 yen against 138.9 yen a kg. At Bangkok, the same grade improved to Rs 57.00 from Rs 56.72 a kg on Thursday.

The spot market rates per kg on Friday follow: RSS 4 49.50 (49.50); RSS 5 48 (48); ungraded 47.25 (47.25); ISNR 20 46.75 (46.75); latex 60% 38 (37.50).
