2-day meet on shopping centres

THE first India conference of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a global association of the industry, is scheduled to be held on September 22 and 23 in New Delhi.

Under the theme `Building the foundation for success,' the conference will address key issues of the industry's growth in the context of recent and proposed developments in the country, says the association's press release.

The New York-headquartered council kicked off its Indian operations on January 1 this year by opening an office in Delhi. It also appointed Mr Amitabh Taneja as Director of ICSC-India.

Speakers at the seminar will include Ms Renuka Ramnath, Managing Director & CEO, ICICI Ventures, Mr Ajay Khanna, CEO-Retail, DLF, Mr Kumar Sitaraman, Managing Director, Lifestyle, Mr B.S. Nagesh, Managing Director & CEO, Shoppers' Stop, Mr Kishore Biyani, Managing Director, Pantaloon Retail, in addition to industry participants from abroad.
