`Govt borrowing will go thru as scheduled'

Mumbai , Sept. 20

THE RBI Governor, Dr Y.V. Reddy, has said he is confident that the Government's borrowing programme will go through as per schedule.

"The borrowing will go through successfully and will be conducted as required by the Government," Dr Reddy told reporterson the sidelines of a conference here on Monday.

Dr Reddy said although there had been a marginal decline in headline inflation, strict vigilance is required in this area.

"There is also some amount of unwinding of the liquidity overhang in the system and we will continue to focus our exit strategies. Our priority is to maintain price stability."
