KSE to set up more ice-cream production units

Kochi , Sept. 21

THE Irinjalakuda-based KSE Ltd, which introduced Vesta brand ice-cream, is planning to set up more ice-cream production units in the State in the coming years.

The company has proposed to set up an ice-cream production unit in Kottayam by next year to cater to the southern markets in the State. The investment in this regard is estimated to be Rs 2 crore, Mr M.C. Paul, Chairman and Managing Director of KSE Ltd, said.

Vesta, first introduced in Thrissur two years ago, has been well accepted for its matching international quality standards, he said.

The product technology and machinery of Vesta has been provided by a well-reputed consultancy and all these give the product an edge over the best international brands available locally, he added.

Mr Paul, who was here in connection with the launch of Vesta brands in Kochi, said that the product is 100 per cent vegetarian and is free from egg, gelatine and saccharine.

The company's dairy division manufactures Vesta from fresh milk from its own dairy plant. The milk collected from local farms is processed without losing its freshness and the freshness of milk makes Vesta taste different, he said.
