Rubber Rubber hardens on buying pressure Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Spet. 21 ALL-ROUND buying pressure strengthened the spot rubber prices on Tuesday. The covering groups continued to procure the stock to fulfil their commitments while nominal buying from certain exporters was also felt in the main marketing centres. Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 50.50 against Rs 50.00 while the other grades also gained proportionately on fresh enquiries. The rubber futures appeared slightly dull quoting the near-month October delivery at Rs 51.85 (Rs 51.96) a kg on Tuesday. The November delivery was quoted at Rs 52.50 (Rs 52.69), December delivery at Rs 52.50 (Rs 51.88) and January delivery at Rs 53.40 (Rs 53.41) per kg for RSS 4. The October futures for RSS 3 closed at 139.5 yen against 139.2 Yen a kg at TOCOM. At Bangkok, RSS 3 improved to Rs 57.33 from Rs 57.17 a kg on Monday. The spot market rates per kg follow: RSS 4 Rs 50.50 (Rs 50.00); RSS 5 Rs 49.50 (Rs 49.00); ungraded Rs 48.00 (Rs 47.50); ISNR 20 Rs 48.50 (Rs 48.25); latex 60% Rs 38.50 (Rs 38.00).
