New Delhi , Sept. 22

THE Surya Vinayak Group on Wednesday announced its foray into the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector with the launch of Lambency range of sandalwood-based beauty products.

Under Lambency, the company will offer skincare products such as sandalwood face pack with herbal water, pure sandalwood oil, sandalwood nourishing cream and scrub. Non-sandalwood-based products include a moisturiser, anti-dandruff conditioner, bodywash and rosewater.

And while the company is keen to also enter the toilet soaps market with a sandalwood-based product, it is amongst one of the contenders for acquiring Karnataka Government-owned Mysore Sandal Soap. "We have launched skincare products in the first phase. This range will be extended to several other categories in due course. Lambency will be the group's first exclusive range of high quality sandal wood-based beauty products in India," General Manager Marketing, Mr Sudhir Sharma, told reporters.

Surya Vinayak Industries is a manufacturer of sandal wood oil and perfumery products with group turnover of Rs 500 crore. It is targeting Rs 14 crore worth of sales from Lambency within the first year of launch.
