Karnataka farmers to return electricity meters

Our Bureau

MANGALORE: The Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha (KRRS), Mangalore Division, has said that farmers will return the electricity meters back to Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (Mescom) Ltd on October 2.

The President of KRRS, Mangalore division, Mr N.S. Verma, told presspersons here that the quality of the meter installed by Mescom was poor.

Mr Verma said that the KRRS would oppose the proposed thermal power plant in Udupi district. Instead, the Government should establish mini-hydro power units in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, he added.
