CADD Centre plans expansion

VISAKHAPATNAM: CADD (computer-aided design and development) Centre is planning to set up 25 more centres in Andhra Pradesh in addition to the existing 10 during the next two years, according to Mr Mathai Chackochen, National Manager.

At a press meet here on Friday, after the inauguration of the second centre by the local MLA Mr Ranga Raju, he said the company was appointing franchisees, which would have to spend Rs 8 lakh - Rs 15 lakh depending on the centre.

He said the company had set up 92 such training centres and the number would rise to 175 by 2006. It has three R&D centres. Abroad, it has set up three centres, one apiece in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. It would go to China soon. He said CADD training would be of great use to engineering students. It has also specifically designed courses for other fields such as multi-media and software. Every year, 50,000 students are being trained.
