Mumbai , Sept. 27

ESTABLISHING a trend of agencies hiring marketing professionals for its strategic planning functions, Lowe's Delhi Office will soon have Mr Harish Krishnamachar, formerly vice-president marketing, TVS Motor Company, as Senior Vice-President, Strategy Planning.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Pranesh Misra, President & Chief operating officer, Lowe, said, "Harish was with us for a number of years till he left in 1999 to go to Australia for work as well as higher studies. He came back to join TVS Motors. It's always good to have someone with a communications background along with a marketing side perspective."

In the past, Lowe has hired professionals who have been with both sides of the business, both from the perspective of the agency and the client. For instance, Mr Mohit Beotra, Lowe's Delhi Branch Head also comes from a marketing background having served as the marketing group head at Airtel, before which he worked for a software firm in the UK.

"Such people have a wider perspective and it is a natural evolution in their careers ," said Mr Misra.
