Politics Rosaiah flays TDP stand on CM residence issue Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Sept. 28 THE Congress Government has criticised the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for levelling "baseless and uncalled for allegations" on the upcoming permanent residence for Chief Minister. The Finance Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, wondered why the TDP chose to make these allegations when the Government had already appointed Mr Raghottama Rao, Special Chief Secretary, to probe into the allegations. "They (the TDP Government) never paid heed to allegations during its nine-year regime. Reports of irregularities involving hundreds of crores cropped up during its regime. But no inquiry was ever ordered into any of those irregularities," he pointed out. The whole idea was to build a permanent residence for Chief Minister. He alleged that the TDP Government wasted lakhs of rupees in the name of `simplicity' of the then Chief Minister, late N.T. Rama Rao.
