Meet on cancer treatment in Cairo

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr M. Krishnan Nair, Founder Director, Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Thiruvananthapuram, is attending the annual meeting of the Brussels-based International Network for Cancer Treatment and Research (INCTR) to be held in Cairo.

Dr Nair is currently serving as consultant in clinical oncology at the SUT Institute of Oncology here as well as the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi. Dr Nair will present a paper on "Telemedicine in India" at the INCTR meeting. He will elaborate on the telemedicine activities undertaken by the RCC, AIMS and the Apollo Group of Hospitals.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) also is involved in this project through its Edusat programme.
