Roche's global head to visit India next week

THE global head of Swiss pharmaceutical major F Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, Mr William Burns, is visiting India next week to meet senior policy makers for an insight into the present United Progressive Alliance's healthcare policies.

With the change in the patent regime beginning next year, multinational companies are eyeing India with a renewed interest.

Mr Burns is also expected to visit the Mumbai office of Roche as well as officials of Taksal Pharma Pvt Ltd, the present distributor of Roche in India. Mr Burns will also be meeting the medical fraternity in the therapeutic segment of oncology, nephrology and virology, segments that the company focuses on.
