Stock Markets Tell the losers not to be dyed-in-the-wool!
The week saw election problem in cricket board and bank AGMs, even as Gandhiji got the annual salute from netas, but Sridevi is chatting about markets with her friends Khan, Dakshinamoorthy and Jogin. Get, set, go!
Sri: Equities appear poised for further rally on the charts. Kay: Hi, everybody! Nifty has moved past a critical positive trigger. Cheer up! Dax: Inflation has dipped because food item prices fell. Shall we party? Jog: If Dax is paying, I'm ready. Anybody saw ONGC and GAIL? Kay: They may get a fillip as the government has cut by a third subsidy burden that they would have to bear on LPG and kerosene. So, we can cook at home. Sri: I heard something about Dubai-based P&O that picked up 69 per cent stake in Bengal Port - that it is interested in ship-breaking venture... Dax: How heartbreaking for eco activists! I thought Mukand group has interests in it? Kay: Break off to rising trend in iron ore prices. I see momentum to the rally in Sesa Goa and GMDC. Jog: I have been watching Kalpataru... not the mythical tree that fulfils desires. :-) Sri: Kalpataru Power's will get pep from its acquisition of 40 pc stake in JMC projects @ Rs 40. Dax: Somebody complimented me that I'm dyed in the wool! Or, is it died? Jog: Having dyed-in-the-wool opinions means holding them too strongly. Wool prices are low, so Dax, you can have more wool for dyeing! Kay: Three-year low prices, and could tend lower. Positive for textile major Raymond. Sri: I was knitting when I heard that Tata Teleservices is sewing up an acquisition. Jog: Early birds for the earnings announcement season would be Infosys and MphasiS BFL. Dax: I met a cost accountant who wants to become the chairman of Coal India. Should CAs try? Kay: Stop competing, you can get into an advisory panel of DCA if you're not a foreign expert! LOL Sri: I want to say something about freight... Dax: What're you frightened of, Sri? Jog is bothering you? Kay: Shhh... Freight rates in the very large crude carrier segment are on the ascendant. Jog: GE Shipping and Essar Shipping have a presence in this segment. They should benefit. Dax: Excuse me, I've got a bad tummy. Sri: You won't be surprised that diseases are innumerable - count the cooks. :-) Jog: That's what Seneca said about 2000 years ago. For investors, you should say something else! Kay: Be careful... ah, I fell off my chair... . * * * * *
