Our Bureau

New Delhi , Oct. 4

AIR Deccan is in the process of signing agreements for 15 ATR aircraft, the Managing Director, Captain G.R. Gopinath, said on Monday.

"We have called two aircraft manufacturers — Bombardier and ATR — for negotiations. Half of the aircraft that we plan to take will be on ownership basis and the rest on dry lease," Captain Gopinath said and added that the airline was hopeful of taking delivery of the aircraft next year.

The proposed induction of the new aircraft will see the gradual phase out of the existing ATR aircraft that the airline is operating at the moment.
