10 Tiruchi projects begin operations

TEN of the 38 projects approved under the New Anna Marumalarchi Thittam (NAMT) in Tiruchi district have started functioning, bringing about an investment of Rs 7.50 crore.

According to the General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC) in-charge, Mr S. Kandasamy, these include an ayurvedic medicine manufacturing unit in Manikandom union, modern rice mills in Pullampadi, Manapparai, Manachanallur and Andhanallur blocks, a milk chilling plant and a cold storage unit in Tirverumbur and a milk sweet manufacturing unit in Andhanallur.

The projects forwarded for clearance include an oil extraction unit and two more cold storage units.
