Fire at chemical plant

HYDERABAD: Sree Rayalaseema Hi-Strength Hypo Ltd has informed the stock exchanges that there was a fire accident in the company's calcium hypochlorite plant on Saturday and the operations of the unit were stopped.

According to the company, the damage and loss caused to raw materials, stock-in-process, finished goods and spares was estimated around Rs 2 crore and these were covered under insurance.

With regard to the extent of damage and loss to plant and machinery and other equipment, the company said that it was awaiting the engineer's report to arrive at value of damage and loss.
