Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: Ms Shakuntala Mahawal, Principal Information Officer, Press Information Bureau (PIB) on Tuesday interacted with media heads of Central and State Governments and the representatives of the mass media and got a first hand feedback on various issues being projected through the Government media.

Referring to the spate of suicides in the State recently, she said that various aspects like avenues for credit available to the farmers and sources of other inputs should have been highlighted in the programmes of Doordarshan, All India Radio and Field Publicity. Mr A. Ramakrishna Rao, Deputy Principal Information Officer, PIB, explained the various programmes giving details of the schemes launched by State and Central Governments to ameliorate the plight of the farmers were put out by Doordarshan, AIR and other media units.

During the interaction with the representatives of print media, Ms Mahawal emphasised the need to project stories on developmental activities.
