New Delhi , Oct. 6 NOW you can own a computer, broadband connection, telephone line, Microsoft windows XP and pack of games for just Rs 999 a month. Bharti Tele-Ventures has tied up with HCL and Bajaj Auto Finance Ltd, which will enable consumers to get a package deal called Airtel Broadband Friendly Offer. The technology will allow users to simultaneously talk on the telephone while surfing the Internet. One of the PCs on offer is equipped with an Intel Pentium IV processor while the other has an Intel Celeron D processor. Both the models come with a 17-inch monitor, a CD drive and a Windows XP Home edition. With the Intel Pentium IV processor model, customers also get a five-pack Microsoft Gaming Pack, free of cost. Announcing the launch of the offer, Mr Rajiv Kohli, CEO, Airtel Broadband & Telephone Services, said, "One of the primary reasons for low Internet penetration in the country is low PC penetration, owing to steep one-time cost of personal computer. Expensive dial-up connections and slow connectivity speeds have also not helped. With the launch of the Airtel Broadband Pocket Friendly offer, customers will not only be able to own a personal computer, but will also be able to access and surf the Internet at high speeds." However, there is an upfront payment attached to the deal. A customer has to make an upfront payment of Rs 4,963 for the Intel Celeron D model and Rs 8,125 for the Intel Pentium model. The monthly instalment for the Intel Celeron D is Rs 999 for of 48 months and for the Intel Pentium processor, it is Rs 1,445 for 36 months.
