THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Education Minister, Mr E.T. Muhammed Basheer, has directed officials to prepare a project for networking industrial and research institutions as part of efforts to raise quality of technical education in the State.

The Minister issued the orders at a meeting of officials from the Department of Technical Education. The meeting also took on record suggestions about leaving a fixed portion of the syllabi for experts from industrial organisations to handle.

The meeting also decided to finalise recommendations on granting autonomous status to some of the polytechnics in the State.
