WITH the national common minimum programme (NCMP) focusing on health in the rural areas, the Health Minister, Dr A. Ramadoss, on Thursday held meetings with officials of the Prime Minister's Office, Central Ministries, State Governments as well as non-Governmental organisations (NGOs).

"The aim of this package is also to involve the doctors and provide training to women at the village level so that they are familiar with the basics of hygiene. These women would be imparted basic knowledge and taught how to deal with health problems,'' Dr Ramadoss said.

He added that though there is an infrastructure problem especially with regard to health in several States, he said the Government was taking measures to ensure that the delivery system was improved and ``health for all'' percolated to the grassroots level.
