Karnataka Small-scale body's plea

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association has criticised the abolition of Form 37 on industrial inputs and capital goods, which has imposed an additional tax burden on these goods.

This has resulted in the incidence of tax going up from 12 to 16 per cent, which along with the special 15 per cent infrastructure cess has become a severe burden for the small-scale units.

The association also protested against the recent Government notification imposing a special entry tax on an extended list of 23 items. Karnataka has been levying entry tax on only a few items.
