Handloom Expo from Oct 16 in Hyderabad

THE State Government in collaboration with the Development Commissioner of Handloom, New Delhi, is holding the National Handloom Expo-2004 in Hyderabad between October 16 and November 7.

About 100 handloom cooperatives, corporations and societies from different States/union territories and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), will be participating.

The Governor, Mr Surjeet Singh Barnala is expected to inaugurate the expo.

The Government has said it would reimburse 10 per cent rebate allowed by the eligible handloom agencies on the sales affected by them in the National Handloom Expo.

Consequently, the customer would be able to purchase the handloom products to be exhibited at discounted prices, according to a press release from the State Commissioner & Director, Handlooms and Textiles.
