Diversification SEC Ind to foray into space sector Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Oct. 8 SEC Industries, the Hyderabad-based industry involved in development of indigenous products for the Defence sector, plans to diversify into the space sector, according to its Managing Director, Mr D. Vidyasagar. The company, founded by Mr D. Seshagiri Rao, turned 50 and is on an expansion mode. It has acquired sophisticated CNC machines and equipped itself with facilities to execute tough jobs from the strategic sectors of the industry, he said at the `Golden' Jubilee function on Friday. The company started in Vijayawada, with about 50 employees in 1954, moved to Hyderabad in 1963, and has consolidated to grow to nearly 300 employees strength. It was one of the first inhabitants at the Balanagar Industrial area in the outskirts of Hyderabad. Several employees were honoured and winners in various competitions awarded prizes at the function. SEC Industries has won awards for its quality and reliability of products for the core strategic sectors both at the State, from the Federation of AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) and the State Government as well as at the National level from the Union Defence Ministry. It has acquired the ISO-9001 certification.
