IT-enabled Services Datacraft sets up global service centre in B'lore Our Bureau
Bangalore , Oct. 8 AS part of its consolidation strategy, IT service provider Datacraft launched a Global Service Centre (GSC) in Bangalore on Friday. The 100-seater facility will provide services such as call management, help desk services, management and monitoring of their customers' IT environment. Having invested to the tune of "millions of dollars," the company expects to grow the India GSC as a strategic global hub to handle international calls, Mr Dilip Kumar, Regional Director, South East Asia, India and Korea said. A key strategy to enhance the IT service provider's business is to consolidate its five STARtrac centres to one GSC. If "things go well, India can take over as the global hub for Datacraft. Right now, we are offering only English language support, but later we plan to have other languages to support the APAC countries. This is only the first phase, later we will ramp up our operations here," Mr Bill Padfield, CEO, Datacraft, told the media here. For Datacraft, India has emerged as the fastest growing market and subsidiary, with the facility to support 13 countries in the Asia Pacific region. Currently, Datacraft employs 300 people in addition to 100 GSC employees. Interestingly, a disaster recovery side in Singapore that has a fully redundant design, including duplication of power sources and multiple levels of security, will mirror the GSC in Bangalore.
