SAT orders back on SEBI site

Our Bureau

MUMBAI: The Securities and Exchange board of India (SEBI) has resumed publishing the orders of the Securities Appellate Tribunal on its Web site.

It had stopped publishing these since January and claimed that the tribunal had instructed that the orders not be published.

The SAT subsequently denied to Business Line that any such instruction was given to SEBI.

The dissemination of the orders is paramount, as legal precedence set in these orders will have serious ramifications on the cases that are waiting to come up before the tribunal.

The tribunal has passed over 110 orders since March. SEBI has now put up 20 of these orders, passed in August and September, on its Web site.
