Ahmedabad , Oct. 12

TRENT Ltd, a Tata Group company, on Tuesday announced its foray into mass-market retailing with the launch of Star India Bazaar and said that the first outlet of the hypermarket chain would open in Ahmedabad by November.

Trent, which already has 16 upmarket retail stores under the `Westside' brand across the country, would set up `Star India Bazaar' outlets in Mumbai and Bangalore in the days to come, Trent's General Manager (Marketing), Mr Himanshu Chakrawarti, told reporters.

The Ahmedabad outlet would have a covered area of over 50,000 sq. feet.

"Star India Bazaar will offer a good shopping experience at an affordable price. It will be a very large format store that would stock all items of daily household needs under one roof. The product range would include groceries, durables, apparels, utensils and plastic items," Mr Chakrawarti said.
