Exhibition on eyesight

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), here is organising a two-day exhibition at Vidyaranya High School during October 14-15, on the occasion of World Sight Day. The exhibition will comprise interactive displays and a poster gallery. The Institute will also conduct free vision screening for all visitors.

World Sight Day was initiated as part of VISION 2020: The Right to Sight, a World Health Organisation sponsored global initiative against avoidable blindness, in which LVPEI plays a major role.

India has nearly one-tenth of the world's blind persons, nearly 20 million Indians suffer from blindness or severe visual impairment. Eighty per cent of this vision loss is treatable or preventable.
