THE Regional Office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has released refinance amounting to Rs 39.53 crore to Kerala State Cooperative Agricultural and Rural Development Bank Ltd (KSCARDB).

Of this, Rs 20.62 crore represented refinance sanctioned in the rural housing sector and the balance in various farm sector activities and rural non-farm sector, including road transport operators. This will take outstanding refinance sanctioned to KSCARDB to Rs 1,220.37 crore, according to Mr B.S. Shekhawat, Chief General Manager, Nabard.

He said the regional office of the apex bank had been engaged in efforts to double the ground-level agriculture credit over a period of the next three years, keeping with the farm credit policy recently announced by the Centre. Two State-level seminars on live stock sector and agri-export zones were conducted.
