Punjab Tractors sells 5,880 units

Our Bureau

MUMBAI: Boosted by higher volumes, Punjab Tractors' total revenue has increased by 48 per cent in the second quarter of the current fiscal to Rs 194 crore compared to Rs 130.80 crore in the same period last year.

The company sold 5880 tractors in the second quarter as opposed to 4640 units sold in the July-September period last year.

According to a company statement, "increase in volume, better product mix and spread of overheads on higher volume accounted for a substantial offset of the additional burden arising from the steep increase of steel related components".

The company's net profit increased by about 65 per cent in the period to Rs 10.80 crore as against Rs 6.10 crore in the same period last fiscal.
