Hero Honda Q2 net up 24 pc

HERO Honda Motors Ltd, on Thursday said its second-quarter net profit rose by 24 per cent, boosted by demand for its CD-Dawn and Splendor models.

The company's net profit rose to Rs 194.36 crore in the period from Rs 156.55 crore during July-September 2003.

The total turnover of the company for the same period also increased by 38 per cent to Rs 1,798 crore from Rs 1,301 crore in Q2 last fiscal.

In a company statement, Mr Pawan Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Honda Motors Ltd, said, "Our performance exemplifies the emphasis we lay, at Hero Honda, on meeting customer needs and desires. The two-wheeler market is evolving very fast. As announced earlier, we would be launching two new models this fiscal, which I am sure will further strengthen our leadership position in the market".
