`Tatkal system unfair'

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: The proposal to increase the number of berths in trains under the Tatkal system of reservation and the further increase in reservation charges by the Railway Board has drawn flak from the public.

In a statement here, the Trustee of the Consortium for Consumer Justice, Mr K. Muthiah, called the move as being unfriendly to passengers. The system , as it is is unethical, anti-consumer and a black measure. It promotes jumping of queue at the cost of less fortunate passengers waiting for their legitimate turn, he said.
