More members on TTD board

THE Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, which met here on Saturday, has decided to increase the number of members of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board from the existing 13 to 15.

The new members to be included will be the Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority and the State Principal Secretary, Endowments.

Briefing newspersons following the Cabinet meeting, the Minister for Information, Mr Mohammed Ali Shabbir, said that a decision was also taken to promulgate an ordinance providing reservations to the backward classes and women in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporations.

An ordinance would also be promulgated barring persons having more than two children from contesting the post of the Mayor of Hyderabad.

The Minister said that the Cabinet had also decided to amend the Registrations and Stamps Act so as to entrust the Inspector-General of Registrations and Stamps with powers to review and amend the decisions of District Collectors with regard to registrations.
