Pondy varsity holds interface

THE Department of Management Studies of the School of Management in Pondicherry University organised a three-day institute-industry interface programme called `Synapse 04' here last week.

The department had been holding such programmes every year and the three-day events were marked by panel discussions by representatives of various industrial undertakings, dealing with current business issues.

The Founder-Chairman of Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd, Dr K. Anji Reddy, in the course of his inaugural address stressed the importance of hard work and perseverance.

On the opening day, there was adiscussion on `Collaborate and compete-the smarter way.'

In the deliberation under the `marketing panel' the focus was on `Company driven brands or brand driven companies: where lies the future?' There was a discussion on concepts such as branch architecture, positioning, customer acceptance.

The Chairman and Managing Director of CavinKare Pvt Ltd, Mr C. K. Ranganathan, presented the keynote address which marked the grand finale of this year's programme. He stressed that perseverance would always stand the youth in good stead.
