Our Correspondent

MADURAI: The employees of the Madurai District Cooperative Milk Producers Union (MDCMPU) has sought payment of dearness allowance arrears pending since 2000.

The All-Aavin Joint Action Council has said that 700 permanent employees of the union are yet to receive the DA revised by the Government since 2000.

In a statement here, Mr E. Ramu, President of the union, and Mr A. Maria Antony Das, Secretary, have said the Government has revised the dearness allowance six times since 2000. Notwithstanding the recommendation of the district collector, who is also the special officer of Madurai Aavin, the arrears have not been paid.
