GE Shipping signs contracts to build two 2 carriers

Mumbai , Oct. 21

GREAT Eastern Shipping has signed a contract for building two new `medium range' product/chemical carriers of 37,000-deadweight tonnage each.

According to a company official, the two product carriers with `IA Ice Class' notation will be built at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea, with the deliveries scheduled in February and April 2007.

With this order, the company's new building order book of 15 vessels has four tankers in the `Ice Class' category.
