Medical camps for tribals in Kerala

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A review meeting convened here by the Health Minister, Mr K. K. Ramachandran Master, has decided to hold special medical camps for the benefit of the tribal people in the Wayanad, Palakkad and Idukki districts.

An official said here that these camps would be mounted with the involvement of the respective district administrations, local bodies, the departments of Health, Education, Tribal Welfare and Forests, nationalised banks, NGOs, private hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.

It has been decided that 48 such camps be held in Wayanad during the year, and 12 each in the other two. A holistic treatment concept, drawing equally from the allopathic, ayurvedic and homeopathy streams of medicine, will be applied uniformly for all these camps, the spokesman added.
