Events Chennai Abirami Mega Mall to host `Family Fun Fair' Our Bureau
Chennai , Oct. 24 ABIRAMI Mega Mall has announced the holding of a shopping-cum-entertainment fair for 23 days from today till November 14. The `Family Fun Fair' aims to cash-in on the Diwali-Ramazan festival spendings. "During this period, there is a multi-fold increase in shopping," noted Mr Abirami Ramanathan, Managing Director of Abirami Theatres Pvt Ltd, which runs the Abirami shopping mall. At a press conference here, he said that the company had entered into tie-ups with manufacturers of various products so that the merchandise will be available cheaper during the fair. Textiles, fashion jewellery, household appliances, home improvement products, consumer electronic items, art and handicrafts, IT and telecom products, crackers and eatables are among those that will be sold at the mall. About 8,000 people visit the Abirami complex on working days and about 15,000 on weekends, Mr Ramanathan said. The complex, which has four movie halls, two shopping centres, a food court and a conference or party hall, was constructed last year at a cost of Rs 14 crore. Mr Ramanathan said the project would breakeven in five years.
