Human Resources BEA plans to double business in India Moumita Bakshi
New Delhi , Oct. 24 APPLICATION infrastructure software company, BEA, plans to add about 200 professionals to its Bangalore development centre by the end of this fiscal, even as it targets a 100 per cent year-on-year sales growth from the Indian subcontinent. "BEA currently has around 100 people working at Bangalore development facility and plans to recruit another 200 by the end of this year. The company has already invested around $1 million and plans to invest another $2 million on various programs, including the new partner program," Mr Shailender Kumar, Country Head, BEA Systems India Pvt Ltd, said. "For our marketing operations, we are working on three growth engines which include targeting verticals such as telecom, banking, financial services and insurance and manufacturing. The second line of growth is working with global and domestic alliances with organisation such as HP, TCS, Satyam and Wipro, as well as with independent software vendors such as Opus, Polaris and CMC," he said. The company will also work with its distributor for value-added distribution. "At present, Sonata is a distributor for BEA products. The company is also in active discussion to add another distributor in the current financial year. He said the additional investment would go towards building sales infrastructure, R&D and strengthening the global support centre in Bangalore. For BEA, China is currently the fastest growing market in the Asia- Pacific region, he said, adding that India was next in line.
