Hyderabad , Oct. 25

AIR DECCAN, India's first low-cost carrier on Monday announced the launch of the first Hyderabad-Goa flight, in time for the Goan season.

The flight, which is part of the airline's strategy to connect new destinations would help leisure travellers from cities like Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam to reach Goa via Hyderabad.

The Managing Director of Air Deccan, Capt Gopinath said, `Our new flight will have dual benefit — lowered travel time and low cost of travel as we offer lowest airfares. We have been getting tremendous support and encouragement from the tourism department of Andhra Pradesh and are looking at expanding our network from here."

Head of Planning, Mr Krishnaswamy said, `We presently have six destinations being connected out of Hyderabad and Goa will be the seventh. He further added, we are increasing connectivity when the demand goes up, like in the instance of Bangalore-Hyderabad, we have increased to three flights a day offering variable time options to the business traveller."

We are working with various Travel Agents, Hotels and resorts in Goa like Taj Group, Leela, Ramada, and Park Plaza to extend the value to the holiday by offering economical packages.'

Air Deccan presently connects Goa from Mumbai and Bangalore. All the flights are registering a 90% passenger load factor, a press release claimed.

The flight from Hyderabad leaves at 1130 hrs and arrives at Goa at 1310 hrs. From Goa it leaves at 1330 hrs and arrives at Hyderabad at 1510 hrs.
