KPFC pays Rs 56.7 lakh to Govt

KERALA Power Finance Corporation (KPFC), jointly promoted by the State Government and the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), has paid a dividend of Rs 56.70 lakh, being 20 per cent of the net profit of the company for 2003-04.

A cheque for Rs 33.7 lakh, the State Government's share of the dividend, was received by the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, here on Wednesday. The Electricity Minister, Mr Aryadan Mohamed, received a cheque for Rs 23 lakh as dividend to KSEB.

The company earned an income of Rs 71.53 crore and made a net profit of Rs 2.83 crore in 2003-04. During the year, KPFC disbursed Rs 714.16 crore as financial assistance to the power sector in the State. The total amount so far disbursed in the sector is Rs 1,050 crore.
