Infrastructure Haryana buying land for new industrial estates Our Special Correspondent
Chandigarh , Oct. 27 THE Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC) is in the process of acquiring 6,500 acres of land to set up industrial estates at Bahadurgarh, Manesar Phase-II and III, Barhi Phase-II and special economic zones in Gurgaon, Ambala and Yamunanagar, according to its Chairman, Mr B.D. Dhalia. He presented a cheque for Rs 50 lakh to the Chief Minister, Mr Om Prakash Chautala, here on Wednesday as dividend of HSIDC. Mr Dhalia, who is also the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, handed over another cheque for Rs 50 lakh, on behalf of HSIDC for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Mr Dhalia said HSIDC had allotted 5,142 industrial plots and sheds in various industrial estates for setting up projects, which would catalyse domestic and foreign investment of Rs 10,578.19 crore in the State and generate employment opportunities for 2.64 lakh people. These plots, which had been allotted during the tenure of the current Government, include 500 acres of land to Maruti Udyog Ltd at the Industrial Model Township, Manesar, for their new plant. It will have a capacity to manufacture three lakh vehicles a year. Mr Dhalia said the prominent companies that had been allotted land include Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Ltd, Suzuki Metal India Ltd, Denso, Norcool, Mitsubishi Electricals, Sunbeam Steels (a company of the Hero Honda Group), Barco, Johnson Matthey (India) Private Ltd, Baxter India Ltd, Stanley, Munjal Showa and Musashi Auto and Nerolac Paints. Two food parks were set up at Kundli-Rai and Saha with the help of the Central Government to develop the food processing industry in the State.
