Japanese team visits Hussainsagar lake

HYDERABAD: A high-level team from the Japanese Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC) has visited the Hussainsagar and its catchment area on Tuesday. The team comprised Mr Hiroo Ito (Sector Strategies Director-General) and Mr Atsushi Kaneko (Sector Strategies Director). The visit was in connection with the upcoming financial assistance from the bank to develop the lake.

Mr D Sudheer Reddy, Chairman of Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA), and other top HUDA officials held discussions with the Japanese team. They briefed the visiting officials about the status of the lake and water treatment activity. The JBIC has given in-principle nod for sanction of Rs 270 crore to support the Rs 316-crore lake restoration project.
