Goodlass Nerolac Q2 net rises 56%

HIGHER other income and lower interest payments has helped Goodlass Nerolac Paints report a 55.75 per cent increase in net profit for the second quarter ended September 30, 2004 to Rs 29.22 crore, as against Rs 18.76 crore in the same quarter last year.

Net income for the quarter was 10 per cent higher at Rs 229.54 crore (Rs 209.51 crore). Per share earnings this quarter were calculated for an increased number of equity shares, as the company distributed 1.02 crore bonus shares in the ratio of 2:3, a news release said.

For the half-year ended September 30, Goodlass Nerolac reported a net profit of Rs 44.74 crore (Rs 27.71 crore), while net income was Rs 419.63 crore (Rs 371.31 crore).
