Textiles Bombay Dyeing net at Rs 10.31 cr Our Bureau
MUMBAI: Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Ltd has seen its net profit dip marginally to Rs 10.31 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2004 as against Rs 10.71 crore in the previous corresponding quarter. This came even as the total income rose 12 per cent to Rs 290.07 crore from Rs 259.21 crore. Net sales for the textile segment slipped 8.72 per cent to Rs 105.08 crore from Rs 115.12 crore while DMT (dimethyl terephthalate) sales rose 29 per cent to Rs 159.30 crore from Rs 123.36 crore. The textile major's profit before tax from sale of textiles was down 65 per cent to Rs 1.76 crore during the quarter from Rs 5.08 crore last year. It was DMT that saved Bombay Dyeing the blushes as its PBT in the second quarter zoomed 155 per cent to Rs 18.12 crore from Rs 7.09 crore.
