Corpn Bank deposit drive

MANGALORE: Corporation Bank, which has launched a savings bank account mobilisation campaign with a motive to help the underprivileged among the elderly, felicitated the oldest customer of the bank, Mr A. Venkappaiah, at Mangalore-Pandeshwar branch recently.

A bank release said here on Wednesday that the General Manager, Mr M.R. Nayak, felicitated the 100-year-old Venkappaiah.

Under the campaign, the bank will donate Rs 5 to HelpAge India for each account opened between October 25 and December 31. Mr K.J. Alva, Controller, Internal Audit, Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd, launched the campaign here.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Sandhya R, official from HelpAge India, said that funds mobilised during such campaigns are being used for the welfare of the underprivileged among the elderly. She urged the customers to join hands with Corporation Bank in this regard.

Mr N.N. Pal, General Manager of the bank, and Mr B.R. Bhat, Deputy General Manager, were present on the occasion.
