THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Central Excise and Customs Commissionerate is holding service tax melas on Friday offering an opportunity for new assesses for reporting themselves in as well as for disposing of cases of a technical nature.

All service tax providers in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts which have not remitted the tax so far can utilise this opportunity to obtain service tax registration and legalise their service business. The melas will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., an official spokesman said.
