International film fest in Thruvananthapuram from Dec 10

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Ninth International Film Festival will be held in the city from December 10 to 17, the Cultural Affairs Minister, Mr A.P. Anil Kumar, said.

Around 150 films from 60 countries will be screened at the festival. The main attraction will be a competitive section involving films from Africa, Asia and Latin America.

An expert committee headed by Mr Alain Corneau, French director, will constitute the jury. The embassies of Canada, Mexico and France have offered their support to the festival.

The inauguration and closing ceremony will be held at the Nishagandhi auditorium. Application for delegate passes can be obtained from the Academy website www.keralafilm.com. The pass is priced at Rs 150.
