LMC posts improved performance in Q2

LAKSHMI Mills Company Ltd has shown an improved operation in the quarter ended September 30, 2004 when it has recorded a higher net sales at Rs 36.91 crore, against Rs 35.07 crore in the same quarter of previous year and a net profit of Rs 35 lakh (net loss of Rs 74 lakh last year).

Thanks to realisation of some asset sale proceeds, the company could show up a good Rs 3.28 crore towards other income earned during the quarter (Rs 98 lakh).

The company's PBT remained at Rs 40 lakh, compared with previous year's negative profit of Rs 74.78 lakh).
